Here's the race as I saw it, started out as a bore-fest, then took a few dark turns & ended in chaos and madness - and that's WITHOUT running Klin!

Next up, Hidden Valley, a complete mystery of a track where literally anything can happen. At least there's one track which will have a new qualifying record this year :)

Edit: I should note that USR has now passed DanDroid's total all-time point tally, but that could of course be reversed after the next race - I expect DanDroid will really pick up the pace & take it to USR from now on...

Thanks Andrew for the review. This track is so beautiful, why not take time for a little sightseeing? Another dominant performance from your teams. Very stable and good in traffic, well done ;)

In my case, I realized only in the race that I should have tested pit stops with tire change. This was one plunder and another one was going offtrack when accelerating out of the corners in traffic, again a lack of testing under race conditions. I guess most of us use the races for realistic testing. But we'll come after you soon. The whole pack of it. It's you against everyone :)

    Danny

    BTW: DanDroid 1702 > USR 1701 :)

However, DanDroid 24.7 points per race < USR 27.9 points per race
      Your turn, Danny...

You said "TOTAL", didn't you? But you'll always find a way to win. I know ;)

Dammit - I could have sworn when I looked at it earlier today it said 1704, not 1701. I think I need my eyes checked.

My alternate theory is that Bernhard sneakily deducted 3 points while I wasn't looking. After all, you did say everyone's out to get me!

    Thanks for the nice review!
fa1 really struggled this time with the first lap on cold tyres all the time and of course causing trouble when coming out of the pit. This probably was also the reason on most computers we qualified badly.

Because of lack of time to invest, we also still have not fully finished the intended improvements on pit stop synching between cars and we seem to run into the same problems in a different way on each track, that's really proof of Murphy's law hitting!

Never mind, although on vacation now we still try to finish some improvements and hopefully we can become a serious competitor soon again ...

I noticed one small problem with fa1_2017. Sometimes when it stops at the pit the whole simulation freezes for about 5 seconds. Must be some enormous calculations for the pit strategy. My Laptop is on the slower side though :)

I noticed that as well on a 3.20GHz machine with tons of RAM.

Yes we're doing some calculations concerning the pit strategy during pitstops. These retards didn't occur on our laptop but as they happen on yours, we're going to try to shorten them.

Well, "some" might be understatement here ;)
On my system (4 GHz 32 GB RAM, no SSD) it also happens.

Do you export data to file in this situation?

No, it is a replanning step of the pit strategy,
which on our machine has never taken that long.
However most of you seem to have different behaviour
on your machines, as the differences in qualifying
              time shows.
We will simplify that step accordingly.

    Yes, :\, indeed. :)

I assure you I'm trying quite hard to rectify this situation, but I've not yet managed to find the correct magic dust to make it so. ;)

And as with Hidden Valley there are no previous records its going to be difficult to know what lap time to aim for.

Indeed, won't it be fun :)

I hope you're enjoying your return to the TRB Tim - its certainly a lot more competitive now than it was 10 years ago, and the introduction of Pro mode has really spiced up the racing. I do like seeing your robots in action, especially when overtaking - it does scare me to think what they'll be capable of if you do discover that magic dust.
