Firstly, congratulations Tim - you are BACK!!

And secondly, what the hell did we just see? Here's how it unfolded on my computer...

Yes, congratulations Tim and Wolf-Dieter. This will bring the field closer together and hopefully we'll see many more such competitive races (not dogs breakfasts).

As for the reason why I had bad brakes. On this track I couldn't stay on the track when not on racing line with high brake pressure, thus I had to lower the brake pressure at the last minute.

I must say, your bad brakes made me burst out laughing several times ;)

Omg what a crazy race! We're very sorry for having produced all these crashs and this chaos! In fact we didn't change anything compared to the other races when it comes to the code. The only difference is that this time we had a rather slow and unstable raceline and velocity profile due to a lack of time, which obviously resulted in such a chaos! Sorry for that! :/

Its fine, you provided much laughter so that's a good thing :)

Obviously nobody sets out to create a robot that causes trouble, but we all know how much time they can take to develop and debug.

Thanks to everyone for applying the fix else a very different result would have occurred.

Nice of you to say so... but one race doesn't a championship make! :)

And they've still got that 1 second or so lap time deficit. This race just played a bit more to Mouse and Tiger's strengths, but I think this requires a short track (so the opponent density is higher) and some difficult to pass opponents, and the other faster cars having trouble passing them cleanly. I think dirt-3 is going to be interesting! :)

Also, while there have been small speed improvements to my robots, others have also had improvements. And though I have some ideas for speed improvements going forward none of them are quick fixes, so realistically I don't think the deficit is going to get smaller during this season.

Well, the first step to a championship is winning a race. I'd say you're a good chance for the next one as well - Tiger seems to have a real knack of keeping out of trouble while avoiding getting stuck behind slower cars.

Wow! That must have been some race to watch. Maybe just enough to convince me to restart the JSR team, and possibly even breathe life into the xkcd team...
